From Unemployment to Running Her Own Workshop — Florence's Story
Florence Iria came to EAW as a young woman with no career path and limited options. Like many young Nigerian women, she faced the dual challenge of unemployment and the lack of accessible vocational training in her area.
Through EAW's Female Mechanic Incubator course, offered in partnership with DT Autocafe Ltd in Lagos, Florence learned practical auto mechanics skills — from oil changes and tyre maintenance to brake inspections and basic diagnostics.
Today, Florence is not just an employee — she is an instructor at EAW, training the next generation of female mechanics and proving that no door is closed to a determined African woman.
